The only player I know of from experience that has skipping issues, not associated with a failing or dirty laser, is a Naim CD3.5, or any other of the newer players they produce, simply replacing the puck can sometimes solve the problem, if the laser is ok, any other player, which has a fixed pick up. *So what was causing the skipping, if not the laser assembly being either dirty or failing.
